The Great Aloha Run 2011

On Feb 21,2011 I ran in The Great Aloha Run : an 8.15 mile foot race that starts from  Aloha Tower Marketplace and ends at Aloha Stadium . I woke up at 2:30 am to get to the stadium for the bus ride to downtown Honolulu. I arrived at the stadium at 4:14am and took a 5:00 bus to downtown. As I was lining up at the staging area,the sun was rising.. that alone is what makes this one of my favorite road races. I always line up in the front of the 20,000 entrants so that way I don't have to make my way through a sea of people, I can just run my pace. The national anthem was sung along with Hawai`i Poni `I  and then BOOM the cannon went off and off I went. I didn't train that much this year for the race but gave it my best. I finished 991 overall out of 23,227 finishers, 832 out of 10,899 males  and 84th out of 1038 in my age group of Men 40-44. It wasn't as good as last years finish,but I still maintained a sub 1000 finish.

Post 2nd Date with Darrin (Valentine's Weekend) Feb 11-13,2011

Wow.. what a wonderful time we had on our second date.
We spent the 3 days getting to know each other better and stayed on the northshore,not traveling more than 3 miles from home.

On the way home from the airport Darrin wanted to eat something with rice,so we stopped at Big City Diner . Darrin ordered the fresh Ahi steak and I had steak. It was raining so we decided to stop at Safeway and load up the cooler so we didn't have to go out. The cooler was stocked with a variety pack of Kona Brewing Company Beer some Guiness, strawberries, Island 808 Vodka and 2 bags of ice. We were bunkered in for a night to get to know each other better.
The next day we  had breakfast from  Ted's Bakery at Sunset beach. Darrin ordered the Denver omelet and I stuck with the traditional eggs,rice and Portuguese sausage. Saturday afternoon we hit the shrimp trucks. We decided to stop at 2 shrimp trucks so Darrin can sample food from each one. First stop was Fumi's Kahuku shrimp shack where we had a #4 Hot and Spicy and a #10 Salt and Pepper shrimp both were very good. Next stop was Romy's shrimp/prawn shack where we ordered a plate of Garlic and butter shrimp and one plate of the fried shrimp that's wrapped in a egg roll wrapper then fried. We brought beer to each place since it's a BYOB kind of place. Then back home we went,still raining.
Sunday we went to Ted's Bakery again where Darrin ordered the Ted's special omelet (ham,bacon,potato,onion,and cheese) with a side of spam. I ordered the loco moco. We cruised to Kane`ohe and on the way back stopped at The Crouching Lion Inn for Lunch. We split a crab cake sandwich and a pot of steamed clams. Oh we were sure stuffed.. lol... we went back home where we stayed until it was time to take Darrin to the airport.
I had the most relaxing weekend I have EVER had in my life,staying home and just enjoying the company of Darrin and only having to travel 5 miles max was awesome.Mahalo to Darrin for helping to make Hawai`i truely paradise

1 day before my second date with Darrin

Oh my.. here I am sitting in my room... it's raining pretty heavy right now, on northshore O`ahu. If it's raining like this all weekend then Darrin and I will just stay in my bedroom. Pray for rain guys.. LOL.. He is only going to be here for 2 nights and 3 days.
It's an amazing feeling to have a connection at the level that we do. The smile that is on my face when we are together.. wow.. I even get jealous of myself when I look at the pics or in the mirror.

The start of something good

Well it's been a while since I blogged,so thought I better get with it.
Today I am preparing for my boif Darrin's arrival on Friday. For those of you that don't know, Darrin and I had a first date on 02/14/2011 which lasted 5 days. He came here to check me out and see if I was someone he would be interested in getting to know and start a relationship with.  Well it ended with a ring exchange to clarify that we are in a relationship of getting to know each other.
Before I met Darrin I was wanting to talk to "God" about a few things.. but just didn't know what/how to say it without him getting offended. So I turned to my friend who is studying ministry and asked her how do I pray? I told her that I wanted to let "God" know that I'm tired of him playing games with my life,and it's not fuckin funny anymore. Send me someone good this time.. I deserve it after surviving ALL his games with my life". My friend told me to say it just like that because "God" knows who I am and won't be offended. Well, on X-mas and New Year's Eve I did my "praying" ... guess what happened? I met Darrin on Jan 11,2011 via the internet. Could this be true? Did "God" send me that prince that I have been asking for all my life? Only time will tell.
BTW our third date is coming up March 9,2011 and our 4th date is in the works.
